My guest for our 103rd episode of MTR was martial artist, entrepreneur and television actor Steven Cardenas. Steven is well known for his role as the Red Power Ranger on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Zeo ( Blue Zeo Ranger) and Power Rangers Turbo. Steven shared some great stories from his tv career but the bulk of our interview focused on his love of martial arts and his dojo Force/Balance BJJ & Yoga which opened recently in Burbank California.

Steve shared a great story regarding his introduction to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and how that introduction motivated him to expand his martial arts knowledge from Tae Kwon Do to BJJ. Steve prides himself on teaching martial arts to children and embraces the fact that children absorb so much when it comes to martial arts instruction. Speaking with Steve brought back so many childhood memories not only of watching him perform on TV but of my time studying martial arts. MTR would like to thank Steve for stopping by and sharing what he has been up to.

If you happen to be in Burbank look up Force Balance BJJ & Yoga. Tell Steve MTR sent you

Before breaking down this episode I wanted to let you guys know that we had some serious audio issues resulting in some echoes from Noel and some of our callers.I edited the audio as best as possible but I apologize if this detracts from your enjoyment of this episode. We are still experiencing issues with uploads to the app but we will continue working at it. You can listen to the unedited raw shows on our Blog Talk Radio page.

I was joined on this episode by Noel Brown who participated in this years EVO 2011 tournament representing Unveil, Konas Korner,SFX 360 and our very own My Take Radio. Noel has competed in over 100 events with EVO 2011 being his 4th EVO event. This EVO event was also special because Noel placed 5th out of nearly 1500 competitors. Noel shared quite a bit about his journey to this years EVO and also gave us some insight into the pro gaming community for fighting games. Noel was super cool in breaking down his approach to gaming and how it has been profitable for him. Make sure to watch some of Noel’s fights from EVO below and also follow him on twitter.

Hi Guys,

We had been experiencing some uploading issues with our provider over the last few weeks. As I mentioned in previous episodes you can also listen to MTR on our Blog Talk Radio feed which Blogtalkradio.com/MyTakeRadio. I am hoping that the issues with our provider are resolved and we can upload all our past episodes. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope that we don't experience any more technical issues in the forseeable future.-Rich

Episode Description

For the start of our new “season” of MTR I had the pleasure of speaking to Lex McMahon. Lex is the President of Alchemist Management. Alchemist is a management company founded by music icon MC Hammer that specializes in managing mixed martial artists and assisting them in all aspects of their professional career. Originally I wanted to speak to Lex about the Nate Marquardt situation but as I did more research about Alchemist and their structure I came to the conclusion that their story needed to be shared. We did discuss Nate’s situation but it was more from an informative standpoint. Lex gave us not only insight into his professional life but also shared some fond personal memories as well. MTR wants to thanks Lex for stopping by and chatting with us.
